Spotted: Regent Park Gets Hockey Rink Renovation
Regent Park sees the completion of phase one of its Athletic Grounds project, and Wendel Clark was on hand for the festivities.

WHEN: Saturday, January 3
WHAT: On Saturday, the City of Toronto, TCHC, and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment launched a newly renovated Regent Park hockey rink. With support from MLSE Foundation, Hockey Canada Foundation, developer Daniels Corporation, TCHC, and the City of Toronto, former Maple Leafs Wendel Clark, Gary Leeman, and Mark Osborne were on hand for the event, which included youth skating lessons. The renovation is part of the larger Regent Park revitalization, and is the first phase of the Regent Park Athletic Grounds at the site. Scheduled for completion in fall 2015, the Athletic Grounds will also have a basketball court, an artificial soccer and cricket pitch, and a running track. In addition, TCHC and the Daniels Corporation will bring 600 rental units and 2,000 market-priced condos into the neighbourhood.
