WHAT: The 10th annual Toronto Polar Bear Dip saw 600 hardy people start their new year with a really quick run into Lake Ontario, followed by a much longer time trying to get warm. While many people wore their swimsuits or underwear for the occasion, others dressed as bears or sailors in order to get into the spirit of things. The event raised $70,000 for the charity Habitat for Humanity, adding to the $200,000 the Toronto Polar Bear Club has raised since 2005.
