  • It’s cold, it’s snowy, and the sun has gone away. But as of tomorrow, you’ll be able to sit in warm, dry, food-filled places and get some good deals at local restaurants thanks to the annual Winterlicious program. When you’re full of tasty, specially priced food, it’s easier to believe that spring will someday come.
  • Rob Ford has a new website, which gives us the opportunity to play a challenging and informative Rob Ford’s-new-website-inspired game. Fill in the blank: “Putting ________ first.” Which former mayor claims to have been responsible for “the first transit expansion in the City of Toronto in over a decade, the Scarborough Subway Line”? On a related note, count the number of misstatements in the following statement: “In his 4 years as Mayor, Rob was successful at keeping property taxes low, negotiating a fair labour deal to ensure reliable services for Toronto, eliminating the plastic bag tax, eliminating the personal vehicle tax, and building the first transit expansion in the City of Toronto in over a decade, the Scarborough Subway Line.”
  • If you have something regularly scheduled for Sundays between 3 and 4 p.m., we suggest you cancel it. Torontoist‘s Desmond Cole will be taking over that hourly slot on Newstalk 1010—and he is well worth listening to, if we do say so ourselves.
