WHAT: A holiday train display near the southbound platform at Bloor-Yonge Station. For many years, such holiday displays were for the enjoyment of transit staffers only, gracing the lobby of the TTC’s head office. But this year, train-display-builder (and TTC special events coordinator) Bill Marusiak is sharing his creation with commuters—it will be brightening up the station until early in the new year.
“It’s nice to add a touch of cheer to the normal busy commute, and hopefully bring a smile to the faces of our customers,” Marusiak said.
The TTC billed the display as “interactive,” and while we’re not entirely sure how it qualifies as such (except in that it moves and viewers then watch it move), we are not the sort to turn our noses up at tiny, festive trains.
