- At the end of a hard day (or at any time during any kind of day, really), it is frustrating to be informed that the TTC vehicle in which you are currently travelling will be short turning—and to know that you will soon be stuck on the side of the road with a group of equally frustrated people. If you want to find out the reasons why the buses on your regular route short turn—and when they’re most likely to do so—enter your route number here.
- It’s not too early to start thinking about what you’ll be doing between January 2 and January 11. TIFF hopes you’ll start thinking about how much you’d like to spend that time watching the best films our nation has to offer—it’s released its picks for the top 10 Canadian films of 2014, and you’ll be able to catch them at the Lightbox during that time. You’ll apparently also get the chance to talk to Keanu Reeves, which is how we like to kick off each new year.
- Kathryn Borel, a former producer at Q, has written an article for the Guardian about working with Jian Ghomeshi, the abuse she endured, and the fact that neither her union rep nor her executive producer, Arif Noorani, did anything to help her. The latter reportedly “told [her] that Ghomeshi was the way he was, and that [she] had to figure out how to cope with that.”
