TIFF 2014 Scenes: Monday Night, Featuring Cake, Foxcatcher, Rosewater, Still Alice, and Wild

Torontonians apparently want Jon Stewart to run for mayor, and Jennifer Aniston to look at revealing 20-year-old photos of herself.

Monday night at TIFF had an impressive lineup. First there was Cake (starring Jennifer Aniston), a movie about a support group for addicts that becomes consumed by in-fighting. Then there was Foxcatcher, a movie about a deranged billionaire (Steve Carell) murdering an amateur wrestler (Mark Ruffalo). Following that, we had Jon Stewart’s Rosewater, a movie about a journalist being tortured in Iran. Then we had Still Alice (featuring Kristen Stewart and Julianne Moore), a movie about a family dealing with their mother’s struggle with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Finally, we saw Wild, a movie about a self-destructive woman (Reese Witherspoon) hiking the entire Pacific Coast alone in an effort to deal with her demons. So basically, it was a fun, light-hearted night of revelry.
