Scene: Tweed Ride Toronto

Cyclists got tweeded up and went on a "gentle" ride—all for a good cause.

WHERE: Trinity Bellwoods Park

WHEN: Saturday, September 20, 2:30 p.m.

WHAT: Tweed Ride Toronto, which saw tweed-sporting cyclists take to the streets in support of Bikes Without Borders, a charity that uses “bikes and bike-related solutions as a tool for development in marginalized communities.” The Tweed Ride took its inspiration from London’s Tweed Run, first held in 2009, and features cyclists “sporting woollens of yesteryear” (or mix-and-match ensembles representing clothes of various eras) enjoying “the fine art of a gentle ride.” On this gentle ride, participants wended their way through neighbourhoods in and around Queen West and enjoyed a tea break, before whooping it up (presumably in a gentle, tweedy manner) at an after-party on King West.
