These b-boys and b-girls were raising awareness of a good cause, through dance battles.
WHERE: Tattoo, 567 Queen Street West
WHEN: Friday, April 4
WHAT: Breaking the Cycle, a night of two-on-two b-boy/b-girl dance competitions. Now in its tenth year, the battle was presented by Unity Charity, which engages youths age 10 to 18 by implementing school and community programs that focus on beatboxing, breakdancing, spoken word, poetry, and graffiti. The battle featured 32 teams and a Japan vs. Canada dance showdown with appearances by two-time R16 Korea champion Bboy Issei and [email protected] 2014 Japan finalist Bgirl Ayane, both of whom represented RAW SKOOL, a youth community project based in Tokyo.
