- It appears that despite our near complete lack of meteorological know-how, we were right in suspecting that the sudden and upsetting return of winter weather would rob Torontonians of the opportunity to take in the lunar eclipse. But we’ll have our chance again, once summer has passed (as it will) and winter is poised to descend upon us once again: on October 8, the blood moon will return.
- To mark Archives Awareness Week (which ran this year from April 7 to 13), the good people at the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections put together a post detailing “a week in the life of the archives”: they discuss confirming the metadata for a shipment of rare books, for example, and the appraisal of donations. We believe they may also admit to being in possession of the first four seasons of The Dini Petty Show.
- Did you receive the robocall on Monday night? Or get the email today indicating that the first 1,000 people to arrive would pick up a free T-shirt and flag? If not, here’s all you need to know: Rob Ford will be officially kicking off his campaign this week; the first 1,000 people to arrive at his launch will pick up a free Ford Nation T-shirt and a flag (is there now also a Ford Nation flag?); and it will be, according to the mayor, “guaranteed, the biggest turnout for any campaign you’ve ever seen.”
