FIELD NOTES: As far as hoardings go, this one at the edge of Kensington Market is pretty great. Every time we see it, it’s adorned with new and interesting street art. Unlike other parts of Kensington, where graffiti is expected and appreciated, this hoarding regularly gets a fresh coat of drab grey paint that practically begs artists to make it more interesting (and they quickly comply). This time, it’s been dressed up with, among other things, a crazy yarn bomb. If you’re an avid reader of Vandalist, you’ll recognize this particular knitting style. We’ve seen works by this artist (or these artists) before. And we hope we’ll see more from them in the future.

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email [email protected].
