FIELD NOTES: Poor penmanship is not the hurdle it once was. These days, with most people opting to write with electronic devices instead of the traditional pen and paper, handwriting seems to be going the way of the dodo. There are those who lament that this technological shift is responsible for the slow death of the art of calligraphy. To those people, we say: take a walk through any alleyway, and you’ll see that calligraphy is alive and thriving.

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email
