The Veld Music Festival Delivered a Big Headliner, and Big Crowds

Now in its second year, the Veld Music Festival didn't disappoint fans.

Over the long weekend, tens of thousands of EDM fans (electronic dance music, to the uninitiated) poured into Downsview Park for the second-annual Veld Music Festival.

Day two of the fest gave fans a chance to sample twelve hours of electronica from artists dabbling in progressive house, trance, dubstep, and complextro (think Skrillex packed up with sounds so glitchy they’ll give your smartphone a blue screen of death).

Local and Canadian talent on the setlist for Veld’s second day included the Montreal duo Adventure Club and homegrown club favourites Manzone & Strong, Carlo Lio, and Greg Gow.

But the biggest draw for the all-aged crowd was hogtown’s very own house-music hero, Deadmau5, who premiered five new tracks from his highly-anticipated album and gave fans a sensory thrill with the sound, light, and laser show that he’s become so well known for.

Enough with the words. Check out the photos to see how it all went down.
