Pictures From the 2013 Caribbean Carnival Parade

This year's Caribbean Carnival parade didn't go perfectly, but it was still a good time.

The Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival may have a terrible name (legal obstacles prevent the organizers from going back to plain-old “Caribana”), but it throws a hell of a party.

Although this year’s festivities were to some extent overshadowed by the death of 18-year-old Rueshad Grant, who was killed by a float-hauling truck, there were still plenty of good times to be found amid the multicoloured plumage and thumping music at Saturday’s 2013 Caribbean Carnival parade.

The 3.5 kilometre procession along Lake Shore Boulevard drew throngs of spectators and participants—in fact, the event’s organizers estimate the total attendance at one million. If you weren’t there, you might want to click through the image gallery for a look at what went on.

CORRECTION: August 6, 11:45AM “Lake Shore Boulevard” was previously spelled “Lakeshore Boulevard.”
