Extra, Extra: Ford, Ford, and More Ford
Every weekday’s end, we collect just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- Mayor Rob Ford’s crack scandal—and specifically his remark to a local radio host that his crack scandal might somehow be good for Toronto tourism—made it onto Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. (The video is above.) This is the second time the late-night host has mocked Ford since the scandal broke.
- But wait, guys: maybe the crack scandal has boosted tourism.
- Local comedian Pat Thornton has been working on a Rob Ford routine of his own.
- Meanwhile, former mayor Art Eggleton is apparently as fed up with Mayor Ford’s antics as many of the rest of us.
- Over at Metro, Matt Elliott continues to challenge the Ford brothers’ claim that they’ve somehow saved taxpayers “a billion dollars.”
- CBC has a fancy feature all about how Mayor Ford became the politician that he is.
- But the Post‘s Chris Selley can only shake his head sadly at the fact that many members of the public seem to think the mayor’s troubles are the result of some kind of bizarre media conspiracy.
