—Today, the Star published a story that City Hall insiders have been anticipating for a long time. The front-page investigation details allegations by several people—including the unnamed senior Ford staffer whose quote from the article is reprinted above—that Mayor Rob Ford has a severe drinking problem. Among other things, the article recounts the details of two separate instances when the mayor is said to have been kicked out of public places after doing things that made him seem very intoxicated. One of the instances was just last month, at a charity event honouring members of the Canadian armed forces.
