Extra, Extra: Area Codes, Subway Mysteries, and a Sad Goodbye

- Just when we all got used to adding 647 to the 416 and 905, some more digits are coming to our city: 437 and 365. Thoe are the two new area codes that’ll be introduced in the GTA next month.
- If you ride the subway with any regularity you might have noticed some black-and-white film clips playing on the platform screens recently. They are actually all episodes in one long saga, a murder mystery that has been showing in 30-second snippets for several weeks. The villain will be revealed March 1.
- Another subway story, this one making many commuters pause for a moment of remembrance: musician Achilla Orru, who played the Ugandan thumb piano in Bloor-Yonge station for more than a decade, died of heart disease earlier this month. The Star has a nice profile of Orru here.
