COFFEE: Earlier this month, online marketplace Uniiverse put together a week of out-there things to try for ambitious New Year’s resolvers. Their latest week of events is decidedly more low-key and relaxing. CaffeineTO is geared toward coffee and tea connoisseurs, with tastings, workshops, and mixology classes, starting tonight with a “Chocolate & Coffee Sommelier Tasting.” Chocosol Traders (224 Geary Avenue, Unit #3) 7 p.m.–9 p.m., $30.

CLOWN: Improviser and crafter Becky Johnson pulls her clown nose out of storage and assumes hosting duties tonight at the Foolish Cabaret, as her alter-ego, “Ruby.” Other acts on the bill include Helen Donnelly as “Miss Posey,” a bouffon set from Sandra Battaglini, and a “mask interlude” from Rob Faust. Unit 102 Theatre (376 Dufferin Street), 8 p.m., $10.

COMEDY: Comedian Dawn Whitwell, who teaches the “Comedy Girl” female stand-up classes at Comedy Bar, also has a weekly stand-up showcase, called Dawn Patrol. This week’s edition has a lot of veteran funny ladies in it (and a few token men). Other “D’s” joining Dawn include Debra Digiovanni, Deborah Robinson, and DeAnne Smith. Comedy Bar (945 Bloor Street West), 8:30 p.m., $7 (comics PWYC).
