On New Year’s Day, after you’re done sleeping off your hangover, get ready to pay a little more for transit.

The TTC’s 2013 fare hike, approved in November, will be effective as of January 1. It will raise the price of tokens by five cents, to $2.65 each. Metropasses will be $2.50 extra, bringing them to $128.50 apiece. Weekly passes, at $38.50, will be a dollar more expensive. Day passes will be $10.75, a hike of 25 cents.

Cash fare will stay the same. All the details are here.

The end-of-2012 news from the TTC isn’t all bad, though. On New Year’s Eve, public transit will be free to ride between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. And subways will be running throughout that time.
