Extra, Extra: Free TTC, Supermarket Booze, and The Real Jerk
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

If traffic starts to look like this to your naked eye tonight, you should probably take advantage of some free public transit. - A reminder: as we’ve already mentioned once or twice, you can ride the TTC absolutely free of charge between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. tonight (which, you may recall, is New Year’s Eve). Feel free to get too drunk to drive! But don’t get so drunk that you can’t behave yourself on the bus.
- The Liberal party’s answer to Progressive Conservative calls for liquor sales at corner stores: liquor sales at ten grocery stores. In the whole province. Is this progress? At any rate, it’s a start.
- The Real Jerk is trying to raise a little money on Indiegogo to help decorate its new location, at 625 Queen Street East. In a nod to purists, the proposed decorative accent is a wall-sized photo mural of the exterior of the old location, at Queen Street and Broadview Avenue, from which the Caribbean restaurant was evicted earlier this year.
- Hey look, the Star and the Post have put together dueling year-in-quotes roundups. Take your pick of the all-Ford-all-the-time edition, or the half-Ford edition.
