The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
The saga concludes not a moment to soon.

While it would be naive to believe that a property as profitable as Twilight won’t yield further sequels, spinoffs, and an eventual reboot, Breaking Dawn Part 2 brings the saga to a close, at least for the time being. It’s a fact of which all involved appear keenly aware: knowing that nothing will stop Twi-hards from bidding the series a till-busting sendoff, and seemingly counting the seconds until their contracts expire, Bill Condon and his cast have delivered an improbably inert finale, even for a franchise distinguished by its mediocrity.
As in Breaking Dawn Part 1, Condon, K-Stew, R-Patz and company manage to turn what ought to be guiltily entertaining schlock into a torpid bore. The half-human, half-vampire product of Bella and Edward’s bed-shattering wedding night has whipped the disapproving undead aristocracy into a frenzy, setting the stage for a fang-rattling battle royale. And though that shoddy-CGI-driven smackdown is mildly entertaining when it arrives, as payoff for 90 minutes of tedium, it’s scant compensation. The real reward here, of course, is the impending absence of the Twilight name from multiplex marquees—however temporarily.
