Stratford Festival Will Offer Twice-Daily Bus Service in 2013

Carless theatregoers are in luck: the Stratford Shakespeare Festival announced earlier today that it will be running two “Stratford Direct” buses to and from its venues on performance days, starting May 27. The buses will leave the InterContinental Toronto Centre hotel at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and depart Stratford at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. (Between May 1 and 25 and October 1 and 25, the trips will only happen once per performance day.) The twoish-hour ride won’t be free, but at $10 per direction, it’ll be significantly cheaper than cab fare. The festival had previously offered a similar type of bus service, but only once per week. Riders will be able to make bus reservations on the festival website once next season’s tickets go on sale.
