Extra, Extra: Toronto Gets Bikability Scores, Fringe Gets a New Executive Director

- As Toronto continues (do we ever stop?) debating the role of cycling on our streets and the kind of infrastructure we need to accommodate it, some maps that help show us where we’re at, and where our greatest needs are. Researchers from Simon Fraser and UBC, along with the folks at WalkScore, have assessed major Canadian cities for their bikability, based on cycling infrastructure, topography, and proximity to desirable amenities.
- Congratulations to Kelly Straughan, who has been selected as the next executive director of Toronto’s Fringe Festival. She’ll be hands-on at this year’s fest, and then take over after that.
