- The image at the top of this post is what might become of the Bloor Street United Church, at Bloor and Huron Streets, if the Church’s congregation gets its way. BlogTO reports that the addition would consist of condos, office space, and a new headquarters for the United Church of Canada. After the renovation, Bloor Street United would continue to hold services behind what remained of the building’s facade, which is more than 120 years old.
- The mayor of Toronto typically proclaims a lot of special days (Bob Marley Day, for instance), so the AV Club’s suggestion that Rob Ford institute a holiday for Iron Maiden isn’t a total nonstarter.
