Extra, Extra: Blossoms, Food Markets, and Sue-Ann Levy

Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

  • High Park has lots of cherry trees, and because of the recent warm weather, they’re getting pretty close to flowering. In fact, the High Park Nature Centre spotted what they believe to be the first open blossom of the season earlier today. If you want to pretend you’re in Japan and go picnic while little white petals float down all around you, then you should only have a little less than a week to wait.
  • National Geographic has decided that St. Lawrence Market is the best food market in the world. Okay, why not.
  • The Sun‘s Sue-Ann Levy is known (at least, around here) for her unhinged, ad-hominem-laden, and sometimes-inaccurate right-wing reportage—and also for her willingness to engage in Twitter dogfights with pretty much anyone. Adam McDowell tried to get to the bottom of her personality for OpenFile, but some subjects are just bottomless.
