Yonge Line to Close From Union to Bloor This Weekend
The TTC is adding double cross-overs to its subway tracks, which in the long run is a good thing because it will give workers more flexibility in cases when trains have to be rerouted for one reason or another. (It’s hard to explain how the whole thing works, but the Star has the definitive infographic.)
The bad part, of course, is that while construction is happening, subway service gets all messed up. That’s going to be the case this weekend, when no trains will be running between Union and Bloor stations on the Yonge line, from midnight tonight until Monday at 6 a.m. Remember to plan accordingly.
The TTC expects to close this section of track on two subsequent weekends, but those dates have yet to be determined.
