Extra, Extra: TTC Helps, Fringe Hires, Loblaw’s Hold Up

Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

  • In its ongoing quest to improve customer service, the TTC announced two small initiatives today that it’s hoping will give riders better access to transit help. They’ve expanded the hours of operation for their customer service phone line—telephone inquiries can be made at 416-393-3030, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.—and they’ve started a new Twitter account for riders who have questions. (The TTC will continue using the existing account @TTCnotices for service alerts.)
  • Cool job alert: the Toronto Fringe Festival is looking for a new executive director [PDF]. Applications will be accepted until the end of the month.
  • Wonder what happened to Loblaw’s plan to revitalize the old warehouse at Lakeshore and Bathurst? The Grid looks into the predicament of the forlorn, still-empty building.
