- As we learned last week, the province has decided to shut down Ontario Place, effective immediately, and focus on revitalization plans for the site. The National Post asked nine urban thinkers what they would do to Ontario Place, and got some pretty interesting responses.
- Lovers of musicals, rejoice: The Book of Mormon is coming to Toronto next season, courtesy of Mirvish Productions.
- On your guard, University of Toronto students: teaching assistants are currently working without a contract, and negotiations aren’t going as smoothly as hoped. A tentative strike deadline has been set for February 24.
- Also on her guard: Karen Stintz. The TTC chair has said she expects to lose her job over her complete break with Mayor Rob Ford when it comes to transit planning, and the clock on that process may be starting soon. One week from today, the Executive Committee will debate whether to change the composition of the TTC board, which currently consists of nine councillors, to a mix of five “citizen members” and four councillors.
