Mayor Ford’s Weight Challenge Site Gets Defaced By Anonymous Internet Jerks
Predictable? Yeah, kind of.
Today, Mayor Rob Ford and brother Doug launched their “Cut the Waist Challenge,” a charity fundraiser during which they’ll both attempt to shed pounds, publicly. At the initial weigh-in this morning, we learned that Doug Ford weighs 275 pounds. The mayor is slightly heftier, at 330.
Never ones to take half measures, the brothers Ford have even gone so far as to launch a website, cutthewaist.ca, to track their progress and to enable Torontonians to make their charitable pledges. But whoever designed the site apparently neglected to build in firewalls against the juvenile impulses of Ford’s detractors. The results, as of 12:08 p.m., are what you see in the screenshot above.
Most of the offending entries have since been deleted.
