Extra, Extra: Target Announces Store Locations, Which You Can Celebrate With Local Vodka

- It’s more than a year away, but today Target announced the locations of the first set of stores it plans to open in Ontario. Among them are four in Toronto and one in Mississauga. Bargain hunters, start your clocks: opening day is slated for sometime in the spring of 2013.
- In some cosmic collision of Toronto artsy goodness, Sarah Polley has a development deal to create a film based on Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace.
- Southern Ontario is known for housing many microbreweries, and having a developing local beer culture. But what about local vodka? Still Waters, a distillery in Concord, Ontario, opened last month, and makes small batch single malt vodka and whiskies. The vodka’s already won an award; the whiskey isn’t available yet—it’s aging (hopefully gracefully) in oak barrels.
