Extra, Extra: Spacegoing Lego Men, Terrorist Cats, and Golden Turtles
Every weekday’s end, we collect just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- Two weeks ago, a seemingly insurmountable racial barrier was shattered when a pair of Toronto teens helped a Lego figurine become the first plastic-Canadian to travel to space. The video is above.
- The latest terrorist to threaten the safety of our skies? Ripples the cat.
- If you live near the Ossington Avenue strip, you love the Golden Turtle because it’s one of the few places that still hearkens back to the neighbourhood’s gritty roots. Well, they just got done renovating and they look all swanky now. Aw man, game over. Let’s all go find another street to gentrify.
- 157 Coxwell Avenue, that cube-shaped house we profiled, has sold for “well over” its $349,000 asking price. Congratulations to the new owners, and here’s hoping they enjoy themselves in their weird new home.
- And that’s not today’s only follow-up news! A few months ago we reported on some shady throttling practices by Rogers that seemed to be affecting World of Warcraft players. The CRTC has finally determined that Rogers was 100% in the wrong (and that they are jerks).
