Extra, Extra: Garbage, Personal Responsibility, and Roof Topping
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- With a City workers’ lockout looming, residents of the Christie Pits area are once again anxious that trash will pile up in the park in the event of a labour disruption, like it did in the summer of 2009. We don’t yet know when the standoff between the mayor and the unions will come to a head (sometime in February is a good bet), but perhaps it’s never too soon to start with the NIMBYism.
- A puzzling and unfortunate new entry to the annals of personal responsibility, shirked: A man is suing immigration officials, a doctor, and the Zanzibar strip club for failing to prevent him from contracting HIV… from his wife.
- And hey, have you had a good spine-tingling shudder today? No? Take a look at this this Star feature on roof topping. It may not be quite the craze they make it out to be, but the photos are very nice.
