MUSIC: The Canadian Opera Company’s free concert series will get you into the holiday spirit with a performance called “Holiday Blend.” It will feature Cadence, an a cappella quartet comprising four Canadian men whose tagline is “instruments are for surgeons.” Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts (145 Queen Street West), 12 p.m., FREE.

THEATRE: Famed musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat takes to the stage tonight at the Lower Ossington Theatre. The Robert Wilkinson–directed production—one of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s first collaborations—runs until December 30. For those who haven’t seen the show since it originally came to the stage in the 1970s, the beloved musical tells the biblical tale of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers after receiving the colourful cloak from his father. The Lower Ossington Theatre (100A Ossington Avenue), 8 p.m., $45–$60.

MUSIC: Usually, thinking of your great aunt might conjure memories of warm apple pie or other delicious treats. While Great Aunt Ida doesn’t come with yummy desserts, the singer-songwriter does have a newly released album filled with contributions from dozens of musicians. The Toronto transplant is unveiling her third album, Nuclearize Me, at the Horseshoe Tavern tonight as part of Nu Music Nite. Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West), 9 p.m., FREE.
