Extra, Extra: The Outlaw Ford, Free Porn at the Library, and Kissing Corners

Every weekday’s end, we collect just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

The new face of RobFord.ca

  • Yesterday we told you about a bit of fun someone was having with RobFord.ca—the domain previously owned by our mayor (he used the site back when he was councillor) and that has since been bought by someone who is, at least for now, anonymous. When we first wrote the site was redirecting to the Toronto Star; after that it pointed to a Wikipedia entry on Rob Ford (outlaw). Today, an even clearer proclamation of the new owner’s perspective on current affairs in Toronto, pictured above.
  • The Sun has decided that Toronto’s library system may be not just overfunded and in need of a no-gravy diet, but a den of iniquity as well. Today’s column by Sue-Ann Levy is devoted to the salacious fact that within our libraries’ hallowed halls are some Playboy publications. Turns out they are mainly archival issues on microfilm, and also since when did politicians (or columnists) deciding what counted as officially sanctioned reading material count as a good idea?
  • More details are emerging about at least part of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line. Post City looks at some of the buildings near Bathurst and Eglinton that likely will need to be torn down to make room for new station entrances at that intersection.
  • The Toronto Kiss Map has a shiny new website, and is renewing its call for smooching Torontonians to share their favourite make-out stories.
