Man Stabbed with Scissors in City Hall Library, Suspect in Custody
CP24 is reporting that a man was stabbed in the City Hall branch of the Toronto Public Library this afternoon. The wounds were apparently to his neck and chest, inflicted with a pair of scissors. EMS told reporters that the victim was alert when he was taken to hospital, though the severity of his injuries is not yet known. Another man was apprehended in the area a few minutes later, and is believed to be the suspected assailant in the attack.
The National Post is reporting that the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening. Multiple witnesses have told reporters that the attack began with a dispute between the two men about access to a public computer terminal. The library is closed for the rest of today and is closed on weekends routinely; library spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins told CP24 that they expect to open as usual Monday morning.
