Extra, Extra: Occupy the Sukkah, and Bixi’s Moving East

Every weekday’s end, we collect just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

  • It’s just a small foray eastwards, but Bixi Toronto is expanding its terrain. No new stations have been announced, but the bike-sharing network is taking two of its least-used stations and relocating them to Parliament Street—Parliament and Gerrard, and Parliament and Dundas, specifically. (Those underused stations getting moved are the ones at Lakeshore and Bay, and Queen’s Park Crescent East and St. Jospeh.) Hopefully this is the first of many such expansions, in all directions.
  • How do we help gay kids getting bullied? Rick Mercer had one suggestion, and according to a recent interview, Kid In The Hall Scott Thompson has another—and much more controversial—one: teach gay kids to fight back. Literally, if necessary.
  • Occupy Toronto has been, as we know, preparing for the winter. But they’ve been building more than yurts. Also constructed recently: a sukkah, to celebrate the Jewish holiday.
