“Our readers will love Adrienne […] She’s spent her career sticking up for the little guy and brings a depth of knowledge on government and its workings.”
—James Wallace, editor-in-chief of the Toronto Sun, in the paper’s announcement that Adrienne Batra has been hired as its new comment editor. Batra has served as Rob Ford’s press secretary since he came into office, shielding the mayor from unwanted media attention (sometimes literally). “I want to thank Mayor Ford and all of my colleagues for such a unique experience at City Hall. It has been a real privilege to work in the Office of the Mayor,” wrote Batra, in a note she sent out today. No word yet on who will replace her at City Hall.
This post mistakenly referred to Batra’s new position as “commenter editor.” It is in fact “comment editor,” and we regret the error.
