One Person Killed, Others Injured in Crane Collapse at York University [Updated]
The collapse of a crane on York University campus around 2:30 this afternoon has injured three people, one of who may have died. According to a a CP24 report, it was initially thought that the collapse, which happened at a TTC construction site at York Boulevard and James Gillies Street, had trapped two people and injured a third. 680 News confirms two people are trapped, one a 25-year-old man showing no vital signs and the other in stable condition. A third person was sent to hospital in serious condition. The accident’s cause is unknown at this time.
UPDATE: 4:25 PM 680 News has confirmed that a 25-year-old, one of the two men trapped, has died at the scene and now says that four other people were injured.
