Duly Quoted: Sarah Barrett
“Why does he think that he can do it, when all the rest of us aren’t supposed to do it? He should do what everybody does… I was just wishing I could have gone, ‘Yoo-hoo, no phone,’ and then waited for him to give me the finger.”
—Torontonian Sarah Barrett, who says she saw Mayor Ford driving while using his cellphone yesterday, in Chinatown. The mayor’s press secretary, Adrienne Batra, “did not deny that Mr. Ford was talking on his phone and could not confirm whether he was driving at the time,” according to the Globe and Mail. This is not the first time Ford has gotten called out for driving and talking: he admitted to doing so back in July, after another incident in which a resident spotted him. (No charges were laid at that time, and there is no word if police are investigating now.)
