TIFF Review Roundup: September 10

On the third day of TIFF-mas, the fest programmed for you: some shorts, silents, and George Clooney too.

Well it’s the third official day of TIFF, and it’s a Saturday, which means it’s prime movie-going time for those of you who don’t use up all your vacation and sick days to sit in a chilly theatre for 10 days. Unspooling today is the banner George Clooney flick Ides of March () starring Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Paul Giamatti. It’s like a rookery of en vogue male talent! Also, Evan Rachel Wood. Also playing is the tap-dancing Cannes sensation The Artist (), which managed to dent the cold lumps of obsidian we keep for hearts. And for those of you who think feature-length films are just too long, check out Short Cuts Canada Programme 1 (). Though, really, all the shorts combined are as long as a feature. But you can nap through Patch Town.

We’ve also got reviews of a whole bunch more of today’s flicks. And, in case you have not done so because you are lazy, be sure to check out our freshly minted reviews of Into the Abyss (), The Kid with a Bike (), The Hunter (), and Sarah Palin – You Betcha! ().

Want more TIFF? We’ve got you covered.
