Interested in Being an Urban Planner? We’re Hiring!

You already read us. You love Toronto. And you love words. Clearly, you should join our staff as an Urban Planner.

More About Urban Planners and What They Do

Urban Planner is our curated daily event-listings feature, published every weekday and in a weekend edition on Friday afternoons. The job requires not only a strong writer but also an extremely organized and very tuned-in collator, someone able to curate effectively and give Torontoist‘s readers the best to-do list in the city. The job is evenly split between several people; you’d write listings for just a day or two a week. It’s fun, it pays (modestly!), and it’s a core position, essential to keeping our readers informed about all the great stuff happening in the city.
What we want when you apply: Tell us about yourself, and why you’re interested in the position. Then, give us a demo day of listings: pick a day in the future, and write an Urban Planner post as though you already had the job. (You don’t need to worry about the image for the post, mind you.)

If you’re wondering whether Torontoist is a good fit for you, check out our Contribute page to find out more about what we can offer you and what we’re looking for in all our contributors. (You can ignore the “What We Want When You Apply” section of that page, though.)

To apply, email us at [email protected], with “Urban Planner” in the subject line. Please get your submissions in by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 22. We promise to look at and reply to every single one!
