Serious TTC Bus Crash on Lawrence Avenue East

One person has died and as many as 11 are injured after a collision between a TTC bus and a construction vehicle near Lawrence Avenue East and the Don Valley Parkway, according to early reports. CP24 says that the bus drove into the back of a crane at 2:45 p.m. at Railside Road, just east of the DVP, and the TTC has diverted the 54 Lawrence Avenue bus, as Lawrence is closed between Victoria Park and Don Mills. Toronto Police tweeted that people should avoid the area. [Update, 5:23 p.m.: 680 news is reporting that the person who died as a result of the crash was a woman in her 40s, and nine people were sent to hospital. The drivers of the bus and the crane were not injured.]
