WHERE: Danforth Avenue, from Broadview to Jones Avenue
WHEN: Friday evening to Sunday evening
WHAT: Each year, the Pilaros Taste of the Danforth transforms three kilometres of the roadway just east of the Bloor Viaduct into a celebration of local culture and food (mostly Greek). Food vendors fill the street with intoxicating aromas, revellers shout “Opa!” at random, and the area’s residents give up any hope of getting to and from their homes in a timely manner. Like it or lump it, the massive crowds it attracts suggest the Taste of the Danforth will be part of Toronto’s summer festival lineup for many years to come.
