Former Maple Leafs Player Found Dead

Wade Belak, who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2001 to 2008, was found dead this afternoon at One King West, a hotel and condo complex, several media outlets are reporting. Belak retired from hockey recently after a stint with the Nashville Predators, and was about to enter a career in broadcasting. According to the Star, he was in Toronto training to appear on CBC’s Battle of the Blades. The Sun‘s sources say he took his own life. He was 35.
