Scene: A Yogurt-Cup De-Fence

WHERE: Atkinson Housing Co-Op, near Dundas and Bathurst
WHEN: July 5
WHAT: This readable bit of street art, made of 750-gram yogurt cups, was installed yesterday afternoon by Sean Martindale on the north-side fence of the Atkinson Housing Co-Op, just south of Kensington Market. Martindale, who has been active in Toronto’s street-art scene for years, had collaborators: Ashton Shearer, Ibsa Abdulatif, Shakkir Brown, and Tavis Smith, all of whom are participating in the TMWY Youth Street Art Mentorship Project, an initiative of Whippersnapper Gallery and Art Starts, with funding from the City’s graffiti transformation program.

CORRECTION: June 21, 5:59 PM This was a joint project between Art Starts and Whippersnapper, funded by the city’s graffiti program, and not, as we originally wrote, a Whippersnapper project funded by Art Starts and the City.
