Finding out the somebody doesn’t like Christopher Guest movies isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker. Because someone can have constellations of wonderful, likable qualities and just not get why seeing Fred Willard smile and wince is an expression of unfettered happiness-as-mild-discomfort, or why Eugene Levy saying “And I saaaaaay, ‘Noooo I wasn’t’” is the funniest thing ever. So you don’t have to like Christopher Guest movies. But you should. Because not liking them certainly doesn’t help your case.
