Last Chance to Register for G20 Public Hearings

G20 HEARINGS The Independent Civilian Review Into Matters Relating to the G20 Summit will begin next week, with public hearings on June 1, June 6, and June 13. Members of the public or representatives of community groups who want to speak at these hearings have to pre-register with the Toronto Police Services Board, via a fairly simply online form. Not everyone who registers will have a chance to speak; the submission guidelines stipulate that “In light of the high number of anticipated requests to make submissions, the Independent Civilian Review Into Matters Relating to the G20 Summit will accept and carefully review all Submission Forms, and will select a sample that adequately reflects diverse interests and views.” Speakers will each have five minutes to address the hearing, and registration closes at 5 p.m. today.
