Torontoist Nominated for Digital Magazine of the Year
The National Magazine Awards have, for the past two years, been recognizing the role of online-only publications in Canadian media. And for the second year in a row, we are so happy to announce, they like what we’re doing: Torontoist has been nominated for Magazine of the Year (Digital). The nomination is for the site overall, and especially marks some of our larger adventures over the past year, like the G20 and Toronto’s municipal election.
We’re especially please to be nominated alongside the online editions of such stalwarts as Maclean’s and fellow St. Joseph Media mags Toronto Life and FASHION, and to see other online-only publications, like our friends over at OpenFile, get nods this year. The full list of nominees is available online [PDF], and award winners will be announced on June 10. While we don’t know how things will turn out for us, one thing at least we can say for certain: this year, we will not be defeated by Dogs in Canada. (They had puppy videos!)
