- Harley Valentine’s Centaur in the City blog features photos of his Centaur sculpture visiting various sites around the city. “It is a project based around activating Toronto’s landscape,” he told us. Valentine is also working on a sculpture for the Parliament Public Library, as part of the Regent Park Revitalization Project. See more of his work here.
- On the blog Dumpdiggers, which he writes with Tim Braithwaite, Rob Campbell gives readers a glimpse into the secret world of antique bottles (basically, old-timey empties) and the people who love them. His post explains the deals struck between excavation workers and antique dealers, who visits sites regularly hoping to score big. See more photos of the finds here.
- Keep an eye on your vampire-vulnerable livestock and dreamboat-vulnerable teenagers: Robert Pattinson is in town, according to Toronto Life. Of course, award-winning actors Juliette Binoche and Paul Giamatti are also in the city, with co-star Pattinson, for the filming of Cosmopolis, based on the novel by Don DeLillo and directed by David Cronenberg. The film is due for release in 2012.
- And last, to put things in perspective, an open letter to Stephen Harper by Raffi Cavoukian, a.k.a. Raffi, with a list of demands that includes taking action on climate change and banning marketing to children under 12. It also suggests: “Have the humility and courage to say, ‘I’m sorry'”—good advice for children of any age.
