After an exhausting city council meeting, some residents are already gearing up for a new debate: one about the hard-fought, recently installed bike lanes on Jarvis. Apparently the mayor wants to revisit those lanes, to which he was bitterly opposed, and Public Works and Infrastructure chair Denzil Minnan-Wong (Ward 34, Don Valley East) told the Star that a proposal will be announced next month. The Toronto Cyclists’ Union is very concerned, and has released a statement calling on council to retain the current bike lanes.
