  • That image up there? It popped up in our Flickr Pool yesterday and intrigued us, so we emailed the poster. Wigwag2011 (alternate name: Meredith) told us that the photo depicts “‘The Eaton’s Players,‘ a group of employees who sang and danced and acted for the rest of the (Eaton’s) troops in, at least, the ’10s, ’20s, and ’30s.” Who says retail work is uncreative?
  • Hidden Cameras‘ frontman Joel Gibb is getting some well-deserved love: check him out in a new vid from R.E.M.
  • Discovery of the day: the Toronto Dreams Project Historical Ephemera Blog. Check out the most recent entry, on the Great Fire of 1904, and especially follow the link to video footage—yep, 1904 video—of fire crews responding. [via Jamie Bradburn]
  • Flu season: still annoyingly with us. Toronto Public Health has one more round of flu shot clinics coming up, to help you combat the ills of winter. Check their schedule to find out where to go next week. [PDF]
